I was flipping through some old BMX pictures and I noticed these black and white images: the top one is Kevin Kalkoff, wallride on a Colmar bridge in 2006 ; the second one is Perico on Genoa Vulcanetti.
I like these pictures because they are both wrong is some way: on Kevin shot, I didn’t have the time to set all the flashes before a heavy storm hit us, while on Perico shot, well, I wasn’t looking in the viewfinder, so…

Taking photos of breakdance is just the same as documenting action sports. As the very first time I was shooting a breaker, I was lucky enough to work with a very talented one: Cico of BC One.
With patience, he showed me his best movements, slowing down to make me better understand them, and we talked together to see which was the best angle and timing to shoot. When I placed the flashes and got ready for the shooting, I knew I couldn’t ask Cico to repeat the movements too many times, nor I could shoot lot of frames per second and pick the best ones.

If you’re a golf maniac, Red Bull Hole in All is just for you: shut down the computer, grab an iron and go in the street to look for some holes. Be creative, and rely on your golfer best skills. Oh, remember to bring a video camera (an iPhone would be fine, too) to document the game: uploading your best shots on the contest website, you can win some awesome prizes.
Italian professional golfer Matteo Manassero had a lot of fun in the making of Red Bulll Hole in All video teaser: he put the ball down drains, in bike baskets and in cocktails drinks at aperitivo. Matteo even showed he’s a good actor, too!

Taking pictures of the race was a hell itself, climbing uphill with a heavy backpack full of equipment and flashes. At least the spectators were always ready to share a beer! You can see more photos here.

I first met Jacopo Carozzi about three years ago as he came to the IUTER head quarter to get some free clothes and stickers: he was a shy twelve years old kid, too small for the XS tshirt, so he walked away with loads of women tshirts!
During this time I had the opportunity to see Jacopo grow both as a skater and a person. Needless to say, his skating is getting better and better, destrying any spot (street, rail, park, transition, you name it); it won’t be long since he will get the proper attention from an international audience. Too bad Jacopo evolved from a quit, shy child to an annoying adolescent with a bad smoking habit: nevertheless, travelling with this ginger boy is always a lot of fun!
