Lingotto was FIAT automobile factory in Turin: cars where built on a line that went up through the building, and inished cars emerged at rooftop level, where there was a rooftop test track. This old factory is no more used to build cars, but has a theater, shopping malls and concert halls.
The track on the rooftop was however retained and on the first weekend of July 2011 was used by more then 200 Vespa scooters enthusiasts. After having climbed the helicoidal ramps, riders were having a lot of fun driving up the brick parabolic curves.
For this shooting I wanted some vintage feeling, due to the context and the subject, as many of the Vespa were scooters from the ’60s or even earlier.
